ABU DHABI, UAE — April 28, 2026

Elshorafa Co. has completed a strategic intelligence engagement for AMSi Inc., the Niagara-region Canadian electrical manufacturer, guiding their entry into the UAE market with Abu Dhabi as the primary jurisdiction. The engagement was designed and overseen by Mohammed Elshorafa, Chairman at Elshorafa Co. Setup execution has been handed off to Entityz, Elshorafa Co.'s UAE business setup arm.

AMSi (Applied Modern System Integration) designs and manufactures pre-fabricated modular electrical buildings (e-houses), low- and medium-voltage switchgear, portable substations, and integrated turnkey power systems. Their reference projects include the Woodfibre LNG facility in British Columbia, work for Hydro One, and historical client relationships with Siemens, Eaton, and Alstom.

The UAE entry comes at a moment of significant acceleration in the Abu Dhabi energy sector. ADNOC raised its 2026 capital programme to USD 4 to 4.5 billion, driven by acceleration on the Ruwais LNG project and the Rich Gas Development programme. The UAE's exit from OPEC effective 1 May 2026 signals intent to expand production capacity beyond previous quota constraints.

The Elshorafa Co. Engagement

Elshorafa Co. delivered the engagement through its proprietary four-phase Strategic Methodology Framework, covering compliance mapping, market discovery, gap analysis, and execution planning. The methodology has been applied across more than 150 projects in over 30 industries since 2015.

The engagement recommended Abu Dhabi mainland as the primary legal jurisdiction based on customer concentration analysis. Key target customers including ADNOC, TAQA, TRANSCO, and ADDC are all Abu Dhabi-based entities.

Market Context

For manufacturers serving the energy infrastructure sector, the UAE presents a defined opportunity window. ADNOC supplier prequalification typically takes two to six months. Product certifications run six to twelve weeks per family. The strategic value lies in sequencing entry so that companies are prequalified and certified before relevant tenders open.

The Ruwais LNG facility is commissioning in the second half of 2026 with 87 percent of planned volumes already pre-sold. Infrastructure modernisation programmes across Abu Dhabi continue to expand the addressable market for custom electrical equipment suppliers.

Next Steps

With the strategic phase completed, AMSi enters the execution stage. Entityz is handling trade licence formation, establishment card processing, and operational infrastructure setup. The Abu Dhabi mainland entity will cover wholesale electrical equipment trading, retail, and electrical contracting activities.

The cooperation between AMSi, Elshorafa Co., and Entityz establishes a template for other Canadian manufacturers considering the same market. Canadian companies have historical strength in heavy industrial electrical, modular construction, and turnkey integration.

When a manufacturer's products are custom-engineered turnkey assemblies, the cost structure, the certification path, the tender approach, and the customer relationship logic are all different from anything an off-the-shelf framework can hold. The work has to be designed around the specific business model.
