Website Audit

See what search engines and AI answer engines see.

Enter any domain. The audit fetches your live pages, then runs thirty checks across GEO and AI readiness, technical SEO, content, schema and infrastructure, plus Google's own speed test. You get a weighted score out of 100 and a fix list ranked by impact.

The report opens in your workspace and is saved to your project, so it is still there when you come back. Nothing to install, no sign up to start.

Definition

What Is a Website Audit?

A website audit is a live inspection of the things a search engine and an AI answer engine read before they decide whether to use your site: whether they can reach it, whether the content is in the HTML they receive, whether the page states what it is, and whether the facts on it are marked up in a form a machine can lift. This audit runs thirty such checks against your real domain, weights them into one score out of 100, and returns the fixes in the order that recovers the most ground.

The difference from a report you may have seen before is what happens to a check that cannot run. Nothing here is estimated. A check that could not complete is marked skipped and removed from the maths, and a domain that could not be read returns one line and no score at all. A number you cannot trace back to a fetch is worse than no number.

If the technical layer is already in order and the question is whether AI engines can quote you, the AI visibility checker answers that on its own, and the AI crawler checker resolves your robots.txt rule by rule.

Coverage

Thirty Checks, Five Sections

Every check returns pass, warn or fail with the measured value next to it. GEO leads because it is the part almost nobody is measuring yet, and it is the cheapest thing to get wrong.

SectionWeightWhat it covers
GEO and AI readiness25 percentAnswer engine access tested against your real robots.txt rules, training crawler policy, whether your content is in the HTML for a crawler that does not run JavaScript, AI opt out tags, llms.txt at the root, and a content feed.
Technical30 percentHTTPS reachable, the http to https redirect, indexability in the robots meta and the X-Robots-Tag header, www and bare domain resolving to one host, robots.txt, the XML sitemap found and counted, 404 handling, canonical, and hreflang.
Content25 percentTitle tag with the length measured, meta description with the length measured, exactly one H1, heading structure, image alt text, and link structure with internal and external counted.
Schema20 percentStructured data across JSON-LD, microdata and RDFa, business identity markup carrying name, URL and one contact field, and rich result markup such as Product, Article, Service, Review and FAQPage.
Infrastructureinside technicalDNS A record, www record, mail servers, SPF, DMARC and its policy, and nameservers, read live from public resolvers. Scored inside the technical weight, because a domain that cannot resolve is a technical fact.
Speedreported on its ownGoogle PageSpeed Insights run live on mobile: Performance, SEO, Accessibility and Best practices, plus LCP, INP and CLS. It sits next to the score and does not move it, because it is Google's measurement and not ours.
Method

Measured, Not Estimated

  1. 01Your site is read liveThe homepage, robots.txt, llms.txt, your sitemaps and your DNS records, fetched at the moment you press run. The response is classified before anything is scored, so a bot challenge or a server error returns one honest line instead of a confident report about a page nobody read.
  2. 02Every check reports what it measuredPass, warn or fail, with the value found on your site next to it and one line on why it matters. Warnings earn partial credit. A check that could not run is marked skipped and left out of the maths.
  3. 03The report opens in your workspaceScore, section bars, every check, and the fixes ranked by impact. It is written into your project automatically, so there is nothing to save and nothing to lose.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the free website audit check?

Thirty live checks in five sections. GEO and AI readiness covers answer engine access in robots.txt, training crawler policy, whether your content is served in the HTML, AI opt out tags, llms.txt and content feeds. Technical covers HTTPS, the http to https redirect, indexability, the www and bare domain, robots.txt, the XML sitemap, 404 handling, canonical and hreflang. Content covers the title tag, meta description, H1, heading structure, image alt text and link structure. Schema reads JSON-LD, microdata and RDFa, and checks business identity and rich result markup. Infrastructure reads DNS A, www, MX, SPF, DMARC and nameservers live. Google PageSpeed Insights runs alongside and is reported on its own.

Do I need an account to run a website audit?

No. Anyone can run an audit and see the full score, every section bar, and every check in all five sections, including GEO and AI readiness in full. A free account adds the prescription: the full ranked fix list instead of the single highest impact item, the written read, and every audit kept in your workspace.

How is the audit score calculated?

Every check returns pass, warn or fail and carries a weight inside its section. Section scores roll up with technical at 30 percent, content at 25 percent, GEO and AI readiness at 25 percent and schema at 20 percent. Infrastructure checks are scored inside the technical weight rather than as a fifth score, because a domain that cannot resolve is a technical fact. A warning earns partial credit, and a check that could not run is marked skipped and left out of the maths instead of being guessed. Google's speed scores are shown on their own and do not move the number.

What is GEO and why does it lead the report?

GEO is generative engine optimization, the work of being readable and quotable by the engines that answer questions instead of listing links. It leads because it is the cheapest thing to get wrong and the least measured. A single Disallow line in robots.txt can lock out the crawler that would have cited you inside ChatGPT or Perplexity, and nothing in a normal SEO report will tell you. The audit tests each answer crawler against your actual rules and reports what it found, rule text included.

Where does my report open?

In the workspace, at your project. The report is written into your project the moment the run finishes, so there is no Save button to forget and the report is still there when you come back. Running a second domain creates a second project rather than replacing the first.

What happens if the site cannot be read?

You get one honest line and no score. If the domain does not resolve, sits behind a bot challenge, returns a server error or shows a parking page, the audit says exactly that and scores nothing. Nothing is scored from a page that was not read, so a report you see is always a report about your real site.

How long does a website audit take?

Around thirty seconds for the thirty checks, plus another ten to thirty seconds for Google PageSpeed Insights, which runs against Google's own service and returns on its own schedule. Everything is fetched live from your real pages, robots.txt, sitemap and DNS records, never from a cached copy.
